Who Am I?

while still enjoying a successful Real Estate Career in the Newmarket area. I have been licensed since 1987, and started out with a small Real Estate Company in Holland Landing, Ontario. As I grew and learned - I moved up, relocating to Re/Max in Newmarket where I became their
top salesman in my first year and earning Re/Max International's highest award for Realtors in my second year. After several years there, I joined forces with Sutton Group
Realty in Newmarket and while building my home in the north, was still in the top 10
in sales out of 110 office agents.
I was longing for the peace and serenity of the north and had always deisred to move there.
We moved to the north in 1991 and opened my own Company - Northern Lakes Realty Ltd. in 1993 with my wife operating the
secretarial roles. We had 3 other agents working with us, and we had a good reputation in the area. After doing the "Boss" thing for 6 years, I felt I could do better going back to sales, so our entire sales force closed the office and joined with HomeLife/Muskoka Real Estate in Huntsville.
My 'Northern Lakes" office was the very FIRST Muskoka Real Estate Board company to have an internet presence and while all the others were saying "This is a fad and will pass" I could see the incredible power the internet could provide for us. To protect my interest and all the work
involved in creating my web presence, I wanted to ensure no other agent could
capitalize on my years of hard work so I also registered

www.waterfrontmuskoka.on.ca.
and later added www.waterfrontinmuskoka.ca
and KenMashinter.com HomeLife/Muskoka was extremely happy to get our web presence when we joined them and our existing web site was transferred to them and renamed
www.homelifemuskoka.com of
which I continued to maintain until the site was re-vamped.
I personally created my personal web site and I maintain it
personally on a daily basis. I know the importance of technology to do a professional job for my
clients and I have purchased digital photography equipment so that I can now offer
FREE VIRTUAL TOURS.
Since Joining HomeLife/Muskoka Real Estate in 1997, I had 7 consecutive
years (since 1998) of being their top salesman and have obtained HomeLife's
head office award for this achievement annually until 2005. In 2006 I
received HomeLife's Silver Award for outstanding performance and continue to
receive sales awards annually, but to me the awards hold no real value as it
is the work for my clients that I desire to do and which makes me put so
much effort into the marketing. It seems that sales awards are really
meant to show the public where a person is in their business. I do not
promote or push these awards in my marketing as I do not like to boast about
such things. I post this page on my website for those of you who need
to know my past history in the business.
In early 2010 the owners of HomeLife/Muskoka
announced that they had purchased the Re/max offices in Bracebridge and
Huntsville (from separate owners) and along with those two offices comes all
the branch offices including Gravenhurst, Kashe Lake, Port Sydney and Burks
Falls. Our HomeLife/Muskoka offices now located in Bracebridge,
Huntsville and Burks Falls will combine with those Remax offices (each
office will remain in their own town) to make a very large force to be
contended with under the banner of Re/Max North Country Realty Inc
(brokerage). The new company is anticipated to come into play near the
middle of April, 2010, and it is anticipated that we will be maintaining two
locations in Huntsville as both locations have excellent visibility and our
King William Street office having excellent downtown good walk in traffic..
On a personal note. I have been married
since 1979 (to the same woman), and we have three grown children (all now on
their own and married) and our eldest daughter and son in law have provided
4 wonderful grandsons for me to play with..
(just in case you are wondering my age - I
was born June 7/1956)
